NSW Service PlanSix local health districts cover the Sydney metropolitan region, and nine cover rural and regional NSW. In addition, two specialist networks focus on children's and paediatric services, and justice health and forensic mental health. A third network operates across the public health services provided by St Vincent's Hospital, the Sacred Heart Hospice at Darlinghurst and St Joseph’s at Auburn.

If a person with an eating disorder requires specialised treatment beyond the local treatment they have received, it may be appropriate to consider referral to a Tertiary Service. There are separate adult and child and adolescent tertiary services in NSW.
The Peter Beumont Eating Disorders Service is the leading specialist tertiary eating disorders treatment service in NSW. Located in the Professor Marie Bashir Centre at RPA, the service provides hospital and outpatient care, and clinician support.
