Nutrition Management of Children and Adolescents with Eating Disorders in the Inpatient Setting

This new eLearning is specifically designed for Dietitians working with young people with an eating disorder in the inpatient space. In particular, it focuses on admission to a general medical paediatric ward when the young person is medically unstable. However, it is still relevant for the care of a young person admitted in a mental health or eating disorder speciality setting. This eLearning program is built on the evidence base of best practice care for young people and utilises the experience and skills of experienced paediatric Dietitians, while being guided by people with lived experience and their carers, whose input has shaped the care we provide. This course guides Dietitians through nutrition management through the use of practical activities and videos. It holds the care provided to the young person and their families front and centre, whilst guiding the dietitian on how to support them not only during the inpatient admission, but as they step out of hospital into ongoing community care.
