InsideOut researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of an online therapy program for eating disorders called ‘SkillED’
We are seeking people who are 12+ years, experiencing eating disorder symptoms, living in Australia, and are not currently receiving any eating disorder treatment. They must have internet access.
SkillED is an online self-help program for people experiencing eating disorder symptoms. It involves 11 online learning modules, which are completed weekly. The modules cover: psycho-education about eating disorder symptoms, self-monitoring skills, and practical skills for management of emotions and nutrition. All participants complete the first 5 modules in a set order. Then, participants can either complete the remaining 6 modules in order (i.e., the ‘Full program’) or to choose which modules they want to complete, including the option to skip or repeat modules (i.e., 'Choose your own adventure'). So that researchers can evaluate the effectiveness of the program, participants will be invited to complete questionnaires throughout and after the program. At the end of the program, you will also be invited to complete an interview with a researcher to share your feedback on your experiences.
