CLOSING DATE

Invalid Date

Australia’s largest investigation into the core features of eating disorders ever performed.

Recruiting Study Details

The Holistic Study aims to recruit 500+ Australians aged 14 years and over who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder (or suspect you may have an eating disorder) by 2027.

What is Involved

This ground-breaking research should identify factors that influence eating disorders including hormones, the environment around us and reward systems in our brain. We hope to shine a light on the common thought patterns and social factors that can be seen in all eating disorder types, as well as answers to the question of why one form of treatment works for some and not for others. Identifying these characteristics of an eating disorder will revolutionise future research into treatment and recovery of the illness. There are two clinical trials attached to the Holistic Study – For Me and TailorED. If eligible, you will receive free treatment for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, or Binge Eating Disorder.
