Delivering Maudsley Family Based Treatment for eating disorders via telemedicine: Insights and Lessons Learned

Maudsley family-based treatment (FBT) is the most efficacious treatment currently available for adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa (AN). Traditionally a face to face therapy model, it has recently been adapted for delivery via telemedicine to help improve access to families outside of the city. In the current COVID-19 situation, more and more clinicians are having to swiftly move their practice online.

Professor Daniel LeGrange is one of the original pioneers of FBT and was a key part of the investigation teams for the first FBT telehealth study conducted in Chicago (Anderson et al, 2017), and an impending study that sets out to determine the efficacy of delivering FBT to adolescents with AN living in regional and rural New South Wales.

In this one hour webinar he will provide an overview of the use of FBT via telemedicine and highlight specific practice considerations and modifications that clinicians should consider.
