Clinical Trials
Dr Talia Palacios is a research nutritionist, psychologist, and clinical trials specialist with more than a decade of experience across clinical practice, lifestyle intervention research, and data management. She holds a PhD in Nutrition from the University of Sydney, a Master’s in Dietetics, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Human Nutrition and Psychological Science.
Talia previously worked as a Clinical Data Management Lead at the University of Sydney Clinical Trials Centre, where she supported high‑quality clinical research through data governance, methodology, and evidence synthesis. She has extensive experience designing and implementing clinical trials, coordinating participant‑focused research, and developing systems that strengthen research quality and transparency. In this role, she also led key components of the national data‑sharing program, streamlining workflows and supporting researchers. She collaborated with national partners to strengthen Australia’s research data infrastructure.
Her career began in eating disorders care, where she spent nearly seven years working as a dietitian in a multidisciplinary treatment centre. This experience fostered her deep commitment to person‑centred, empathetic care and continues to shape her research interests in improving health outcomes for vulnerable and priority populations.
Talia has contributed to numerous peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations, and national collaborative initiatives. She is passionate about bridging evidence, clinical practice, and lived‑experience perspectives to support impactful research that advances care for individuals and families affected by eating disorders.
