Sharni is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician with a special interest in supporting teenagers and adults struggling with their relationship with food, particularly in the context of:
She offers 50-minute sessions, providing space and time to explore the complexities of an individual's relationship with food, as well as other aspects of life that connect back to food. The initial one to three sessions typically focus on assessment, allowing Sharni to gain a comprehensive understanding of each individual's background and needs.
Sharni values a collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with clients, their healthcare team, and other appropriate supports to develop goals and select treatment options that align with their values.
Sharni recognises the presence of weight stigma in healthcare and is committed to supporting individuals of all body sizes in finding ways to nourish themselves that prioritise overall health and wellbeing, rather than the number on the scale.
Sharni has training in Family-Based Treatment, and may draw upon this when supporting teenagers and their families.
Understanding that conventional healthy eating recommendations may not always be reasonable or accessible for neurodivergent individuals, she supports clients to redefine what healthy eating may mean for them as an individual.
