They may include Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS), Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS) or other public health services. Please note: There are lots of private providers in local communities who also provide treatment for people with eating disorders often rebated under Medicare. You can search for these community services under our Private Providers section.

If there is concern about a person’s medical and/or psychiatric safety, present to your nearest EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. If it is decided that the person with an eating disorder requires a general inpatient admission, this will be arranged.
