Credentialed Eating Disorder Dietitian and an experienced public speaker, she is driven by a passion for promoting body appreciation, challenging the pervasive culture of dieting, and fostering healthier relationships with food. With over 25 years of diverse dietetic experience, Nikki has worked in a wide range of settings, including sports nutrition for elite athletes, research science, and the development of eating disorder programs within both public and private medical settings. In 2000, she founded her Perth-based nutrition practice, Optimal Intake, which she operates from a welcoming space in South Fremantle.
Nikki is well-versed in supporting clients through all forms of eating disorder presentations. Her approach integrates her deep expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as the Health at Every Size® framework. Above all, Nikki’s approach is grounded in client-centred care. Her mission is to empower individuals with knowledge about food and nutrition, using it to improve both physical and mental health, while rebuilding a balanced and positive relationship with food, the body, and the mind.
