Psychologist
Fran (she/her) is a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about providing care that combines evidence-based treatments and respecting the lived and diverse experiences of her clients. Fran is an experienced eating disorder clinician and most commonly works with the following presentations:
Eating disorders and disordered eating
Body dysmorphic disorder
Body image concerns
Mood and anxiety management
General wellbeing
Clinically, Fran has trained in a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT and CBT-E), Temperament Based Therapy with Supports (TBT-S), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She also draws on harm reduction approaches, self-compassion, embodiment practices and interpersonal techniques in a collaborative and client-centred approach. Fran also has experience working in higher levels of eating disorder care.
Fran is aligned with weight inclusive care and practises using the non-diet approach. She is committed to continuously learning and integrating social justice work into her clinical practice, and providing trauma-informed, neurodiversity affirming, LGBTIQA+ inclusive and gender affirming care.
Fran aims to empower individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours with curiosity, to develop a healthy and flexible relationship with their body, food and identity, and move towards living a meaningful life. Fran also has a strong research background, with her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology thesis exploring Body Dysmorphic Disorder and perceptual distortions of body image.
