Emma Trappett

Emma is a registered psychologist. Emma has an interest in body image, body relationship, eating disorders, disordered eating and eating issues within the perinatal period including pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum and parenting. Emma has worked specifically with eating disorders since 2018 within a community not-for-profit organisation providing supervision, treatment and training. Emma additionally worked as a support counsellor with on the national helpline for eating disorders from Sep 2012-Jan 2014. Emma is a member of the Centre of Perinatal Psychology and has completed specific training in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. Emma strongly values the therapeutic relationship and creating a nurturing, collaborative space of trust, safety, support, and compassion. Emma draws on a variety of therapeutic approaches for eating disorders including SSCM and Schema Therapy. Emma additionally draws on approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.
