PROFILE
Emma is a Clinical Psychologist and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician specialising in the treatment of people with eating disorders and weight difficulties, as well as treating anxiety, perfectionism, panic, low self-esteem and depression. Emma has a compassionate and patient therapeutic approach and is dedicated to providing evidence-based treatments that help people to understand and address eating and weight concerns.
Emma has trained extensively in gold standard treatments for eating disorders, including Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Maudsley Family Based Therapy. Emma was previously a member of the specialist eating disorders team at the Centre for Clinical Interventions (CCI), and has worked as a clinician on the Hollywood Hospital Eating Disorders Programme and on the national SWAN research trial of treatments for adults with anorexia nervosa.
Emma has worked as an academic researcher in the fields of mental health, diabetes and disordered eating in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Emma maintains an interest in research and has published book chapters and journal articles examining psychological assessment and treatment of disordered eating. She has presented her research at national and international conferences, such as an invited plenary presentation on Binge Eating Disorder to the Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED). Emma is a sessional lecturer at Curtin University, and is a current member of the ANZAED, and the Australian Association for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (AACBT).
