Aimee Maxwell

Aimee is a registered Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA, and Board-Approved Supervisor of Provisional Psychologists and Registrars. She is also a member of the Australian Association for Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi). Aimee completed her PhD In Clinical Psychology in 2021 at Griffith University. Her thesis examined addictive eating behaviours in children. Aimee has experience within a variety of clinical and educational contexts and has worked with clients across the life-span, including children, adolescents and adults with varying presenting problems including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, emotional regulation, social skills, behaviour management and developmental disorders. Aimee is highly experienced in group therapy and also works as a Psychologist in the Eating Disorders Program at Robina Private Hospital. Aimee primarily practices from an Attached-Focused Psychodynamic approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) perspective. Aimee is recognised as an Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician. She is highly experienced in eating disorders, women's health and mental health, and working from psychodynamic, relational, metacognitive and distress tolerance approaches.

Aimee approaches therapy with all her clients from a curious, compassionate, client-centred approach, working with her clients to push past psychological defences and to develop agency in their lives. Aimee works in private practice on the Gold Coast, at InMind 4 Health, located in Southport. She is currently on maternity leave and not accepting new clients at this time
