Dietitian
Bonnie is a dietitian (APD) and clinical hypnotherapist (professional member of AHA and ASCH) and her unique approach to facilitating people to recover from eating disorders combines the two in a way that allows people to calm their nervous system and become empowered to apply the nutrition knowledge they may otherwise be struggling to action.
Bonnie recognises that a lack of information is often not the only thing standing in the way of someone achieving recovery from an eating disorder. Bonnie acknowledges that many people living with eating disorders feel they have the theoretical knowledge of what to do/eat but find the "how to" make this feel normal let alone positive and enjoyable near impossible. She has therefore created a different approach to eating disorder recovery that works with both aspects - knowledge/education and emotions/capabilities.
Bonnie works online with people all across the world who have often tried multiple different treatments with no lasting success and who are searching for treatment that addresses not just the nutrition aspect but also the psychological component of eating disorder recovery.
Bonnie writes a monthly blog covering different aspects of eating disorder recovery and recently (Nov 2024) published a book "Ready, Now: Your Guide to Doing Recovery from Anorexia Different this Time". "Ready, Now" offers the reader invaluable insight into living with and recovering from anorexia nervosa both from a physical as well as psychological perspective. Within the book Bonnie includes stories from her personal 15 year journey of living with and recovering from anorexia nervosa.
