Alex Corcoran

Alex has worked in private practice since 2003. She has experience in working with a wide range of presenting difficulties, having worked in child & adolescent, and adult mental health (acute inpatient and community-based) services within the Northern Sydney and Central Coast Area Health Services. She has also worked as a therapist in university clinical trials focusing on anxiety and depression, and child behaviour problems and parenting. Alex now works predominantly with older teens and adults and utilises a range of evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, DBT and EMDR. She is experienced with a range of mental health conditions and has a special interest in helping people to recover from trauma. Alex has been awarded the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential. This credential is awarded to a select group of clinicians, in recognition of their advanced training, skills, and experience in treatment complex eating disorder presentations. Patients with eating disorders can access up to 40 psychological services per year with an ED MHP from their GP.
