Overall there is a lack of evidence and clinical guidelines for eating disorders in the perinatal period, with most evidence focusing on severe AN + BN. An eating disorder can develop during pregnancy or it can develop/exist prior to the pregnancy, with the pregnancy further complicating eating disorder symptoms and impacting health. Pregnancy is a unique time when people are actively engaged with the health care system and this provides an opportunity to screen, provide support and engage to improve pregnancy and post-partum outcomes. This webinar will focus on specific nutritional recommendations and considerations across the perinatal period, as well as information and considerations for managing pregnancy symptoms and safe weighing.
