Eating Disorder Coordinator

Hunter New England Local Health District

The Eating Disorder Coordinator in your local health district provides clinical consultation and support to health professionals and teams treating people with eating disorders. This service is only available for health professionals.

Mel Hart is the local eating disorder coordinator for the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD).

Mel joined the InsideOut coordinators group in 2008. She has been working in eating disorders in inpatient and community-based settings over many years. Mel has filled many eating disorders coordinator roles, with particular focus on pathways to care, service development and workforce development. Mel is an Associate Researcher and Conjoint Lecturer with the University of Newcastle and has special interests in equity and access to health care, translating evidence to practice, service and workforce development and research. She is excited to work as part of the dynamic InsideOut team.
