About

Patients are reviewed by a General Paediatrician and Dietitian with an interest in eating disorders. Clinicians from our service communicate with therapists from CAMHS or the private sector trained in family based therapy. Reviews take place weekly, fortnightly, monthly, 3 monthly or 6 monthly depending on need. Review entails dietary and medical history, measurement of physical parameters including temperature, blood pressure, height, weight and BMI, urinalysis, bloods, ECG and bone mineral density scan. Advice on meal planning, provision of adequate nutrition and meal support is provided and reviewed at each appointment. If escalation of care is deemed necessary, options include a brief local admission or referral to a tertiary eating disorders service.
