Rebekah is a compassionate and client-focused psychologist who brings a curious and open-minded approach to therapy. She believes in the importance of empowering individuals, through evidence-based practice, to act on their values as they move towards living their best life—whatever that may be. Rebekah has experience working with young people and adults with various presenting concerns, including eating disorders, chronic pain, life phase adjustments, trauma, anxiety and depression. She has worked across a range of mental health settings, including school, research, government community services and hospital settings. She has a strong interest in working with adolescents and young people, particularly in the area of body image concerns and difficult relationships with food and exercise. Rebekah incorporates techniques from a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for eating disorders(CBT-E), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also applies principles of self-compassion and mindfulness, and tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual. Rebekah completed her Master of Clinical Psychology through Western Sydney University, holds membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is ANZAED eating disorder credentialed. She is currently completing a PhD through the Translational Health Research Institute at Western Sydney University. Her Masters thesis was conducted within the area of anorexia and her PhD is also within the area of eating disorders.
