Please note: There are lots of private providers in local communities who also provide treatment for people with eating disorders often rebated under Medicare. You can search for these community services under our Private Providers section.

Inpatient Treatment

If there is concern about a person’s medical and/or psychiatric safety, present to your nearest EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. People who need medical stabilisation should be admitted to acute hospital medical inpatient treatment. Admission for inpatient treatment may be arranged if appropriate via the emergency department.
