Monica is a Clinical psychologist specialising in feeding and eating disorders in children and adolescents using Maudsley FBT, CBT -E and SSCM treatment approaches. She is the Senior Psychologist at the child and adolescent mental health service Campbelltown Hospital and Principal Clinical Psychologist at Eastern Suburbs Psychology www.easternsuburbspsychology.org. Monica also works with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), providing psychology services to high-performance athletes and coaches. Monica is a proud member of the Australian and New Zeland Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZED) eating disorders and Body Image (EDBI) research network at WSU and was awarded the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President, Research, International Award for excellence in Interdisciplinary research (eating disorder and body image research network) in 2020. Monica is a Psychology board-approved supervisor and provides clinical supervision in the area of eating disorders as part of her role as a credentialed eating disorder clinician to those undertaking the credentialing program in NSW. She held the position of eating disorders coordinator for the Southwest Sydney local health district in 2020, where she was responsible for consulting on the clinical aspects of eating disorders treatment and training in all four hospitals in this district. Monica completed her undergraduate and postgraduate training in Educational and Developmental Psychology at Western Sydney University (WSU), where she currently holds the position of Adjunct Fellow in the School of Social Sciences and Psychology, Western Sydney. Monica has ongoing involvement with WSU as a clinical supervisor. Monica conducted her master’s research in Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Monica also completed her postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology at Charles Sturt University (CSU) with her master’s research examining the presence of eating disorders in LGTIQA+ communities.
