My passion is helping people work through a difficult relationship with food. I continue to work in disordered eating treatment because I love the challenge of working at the “whole person” level to help change entrenched behaviours. My goal is to help people come to a place where they understand how food choices, thoughts and behaviours are interconnected; and help them to make slow, gentle changes to forge a more positive, appetite-regulated relationship with food. I have 10 years of experience as an eating disorders dietitian, during which time I have worked on an inpatient hospital unit and day program, and as Senior Dietitian for the Butterfly Foundation treatment program. I have also presented research findings at two conferences for the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED): on a nutrition education tool specifically designed for treating eating disorders; and on taste preference changes during treatment. Out of all the settings I’ve worked in, my private practice – Bloom Nutrition & Wellness - is my favourite because I can truly tailor my treatment to the needs of the individual before me.
