Joanna Penty

Joanna joined the clinical innovation stream at InsideOut Institute in 2023. Joanna is a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and has extensive experience working with adolescents and families, both in Australia and the United Kingdom, including working within a specialist eating disorder unit at the National Health Service (NHS). Joanna was involved in the team’s first multi-family therapy, eating disorder workshop and led the launch of a new school-based program for Mental Health Support in 2019.

Joanna has previously worked in Primary Health Care with adults suffering from depression and anxiety disorders. Additionally, she has taught Science in local Sydney high schools and worked in scientific publishing.

Joanna completed her MSc Psychology of Education with a focus on factors affecting somatisation in young people.
