Emma Bryant

Emma is a researcher and PhD candidate at InsideOut. She holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Deakin University), a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons I) (USYD), and has previously worked with the Children’s Cancer Institute, Black Dog Institute, WSLHD and the NSW Mental Health Commission. Emma won first place in both the ANZAED/AED Early Career Travel Scholarship and the Peter Beumont Young Investigator Award in 2021 and is a holder of the University of Sydney James King of Irrawang PhD Travelling Scholarship. Her PhD research is on reconceptualising Anorexia Nervosa using co-designed multilayer network models. She aims to challenge existing narratives of Severe and Enduring Anorexia Nervosa (SE-AN), develop novel treatments for this illness group and use her research to inform necessary systemic change.
