About the research trial

Incorporating the voices of people with a lived experience of mental health concerns in the research process has been of growing interest over the past several years. However, it is unclear how often people with lived experience of an eating disorder are involved in eating disorders research (e.g. through advisory boards, end-to-end collaboration, etc).

This project aims to gain a better understanding of lived experience involvement in eating disorders research, as well as gaining a better understanding of perceived benefits and barriers to the inclusion of people with lived experience of an eating disorder in the research process.

Recruitment details

We are seeking participants from four groups (participants can identify with more than one group):

1- Lived experience of an eating disorder;

2- Carer/family of someone with a past or current eating disorder;

3- Clinician working in eating disorders; and

4- Researcher working in eating disorders.

If you chose to participate, you will complete the study online at your own convenience. The study will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You will be asked to fill in basic demographic information and a brief medical history. Following this, you will be asked to complete a range of questions related to your previous involvement in the inclusion of individuals with lived experience of eating disorders in eating disorders research, and your perceptions of barriers to, or benefits related to, the inclusion of individuals with lived experience of eating disorders in eating disorders research.
